On March 1, 1999, Excel began international expansion with the launch of Excel Canada.
On November 1, 2000, Teleglobe Inc. (Excel's Parent Company) was acquired by BCE Inc.
On April 8, 2002, Excel Telecommunications was acquired by VarTec Telecom, Inc.
