IHF is looking for hard-¬working graduate volunteers to commit their time for one year in one of our 6 children’s homes and education centers in Indonesia, Thailand and Kenya. Your role will be to manage the day-to-day maintenance of the center’s programs and initiatives alongside an international staff, in the effort to provide a better opportunity for children’s futures. You are asked to complete at least 4 hours a day of local work and 4 hours a day of international work, 6 days a week.
In Indonesia, we have four education centers in Bali, Jakarta, Medan and Banda Aceh. All Indonesia centers hold English, Math and Computer classes for disadvantaged children aged 6-17. We have children’s homes in Thailand and Kenya. Our Thailand center is a home for seven older children from a nearby hill tribe. Our Kenya center is a home for children of various ages from the impoverished region of East Pokot.
Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential. We prefer applicants with degrees in social studies, language, teaching, medicine, law, and social work. Experience abroad traveling, working or volunteering ¬is an asset. We require candidates have 1-¬2 years working experience in any field.¬ Experience with teaching and/or children is crucial.
Basic accommodation and food is provided by IHF. You will receive a small monthly stipend.
