DESCRIPTION: UGEC had been but a modest printing business when it started in Malabon in August 1988 with just a Solna 225, a two-color printing machine. Started by the husband and wife team of Henry and Edna Cureg, it endured countless hours perfectly registering full color prints using two passes in its lone machine. Missing on the first pass meant spoiling the whole work altogether. But their unshaken belief in the miracles of hard work proved to be the key to eventually being able to do correct printing with their limited but treasured resources. In 1997, UGEC acquired its own factory building, which now houses its main office and the complete printing facility located in Dasmariñas, Cavite. After only nine years of operations then, the United Graphic Expression Corporation (UGEC) was to become one of the major players in the Philippine printing industry.
