DESCRIPTION: Jose Rizal University was originally established by Don Vicente Fabella as Far Eastern College in 1919, its name was changed to Jose Rizal College in 1922. First located at Arlegui Street, the College transferred to R. Hidalgo Street soon afterwards, moving to its present location in Mandaluyong in 1949. It remained closed throughout the Japanese Occupation, as its head had joined the guerilla movement. Don Vincente Fabella was the first Filipino to obtain a Certificate in Public Accountancy from the United States making as the First Filipino Certified Public Accountant. | |
