Frank McCarthy, a former Catholic priest in an inner city parish of New Jersey, founded Xavier Associates on May 3, 1973, to serve national clients in the recruitment of African-American professionals, which remains a key element of the business. Today, with a staff of 15 people, Xavier specializes in search, recruitment, and candidate research for both traditional and minority candidates. Gatti & Associates acquired Xavier Associates in January 1999.
