DESCRIPTION: Lydia¿s House, a community based, non-profit organization is investing in the lives of men, women and children. Lydia¿s House takes a holistic approach to address the needs of at-risk families. Our focus is on ¿Growing Children, Strengthen Families and Changing Neighborhoods" by providing youth and adult intervention services. In ¿Growing Children¿ Lydia¿s House provides: a learner centered after school program for children 6 ¿ 13 and a technology focused entrepreneurial training program for youth 14 ¿ 21; and science based substance abuse and teen pregnancy prevention campaigns. To ¿Strengthen Families¿, Lydia¿s House provides: job readiness training, technology skill development, adult literacy, employment referral, food and clothing. Lydia¿s House, a HUD approved non-profit Housing Provider is ¿Changing Neighborhoods¿ by purchasing abandoned and rehabilitating boarded up buildings for rental to low-income families and/or resale to moderate-income families. | |
