DESCRIPTION: The Mayor and Council of Mount Rainier, Maryland, a dynamic, historic, progressive gateway to Washington, D.C., is accepting resumes for the city manager position in a council-manager form of government. The City with population of 8500, $2.3 million annual budget, and 30 FTE staff (including police and public works) is undergoing major revitalization including a proposed arts district and $1.25 million new police station. Experience with local government, budgets, multicultural populations, grant writing, revitalization, and the joys/demands of a small city preferred. Must possess excellent communication and team leadership skills. Requires relevant BA/BS and/or relevant experience. Salary negotiable DOQ. City offers medical, dental, life, retirement.
