DESCRIPTION: The Direct Action & Research Training (DART) Center of Miami, Florida was founded in 1982. Its mission is to assist in the development of strong, congregation-based, grassroots community organizations committed to democratic principles and values of justice and fairness. The DART Network currently consists of nineteen affiliate organizations spread throughout Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky. Each has their own leaders, staff, funding base, and accomplishments toward justice at the local level. \ Since its inception, The DART Center staff assisted in the development of 19 faith-based community organizing projects spread throughout Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky, which together make up the DART Network. Each organization in the DART Network has their own leaders, staff, funding base, and accomplishments toward justice at the local level. | |
